The episode "Super Zeroes" is one I'm often thinking about, it keeps coming back into my mind time and time again and with good reason. The Power Puff Girls had a lot of episodes that really stood out, whether that was because they were creepy, really funny, pure uniqueness and creativity or because they're full of heart and positive energy for how much the PowerPuff Girls are loved and valued.

Many episodes are worth talking about individually as people do on YouTube, and here's the one I wanted to talk about and shed light on as one of the best 11 minute masterpieces from the show, "Super Zeroes":

So, as it's all about the girls reading about superheroes in comic books and noticing they have all sorts of cool things like cars and it makes them think they aren't good enough with what they already have so they decide to change their selves entirely... because of something they read... it's probably clear enough for me to say what this is in the modern day world, FaceBook. People see what other people are doing and get jealous and only think about what they are missing from their own lives.

So, they make the decision to be more like comic superheroes with cars or whatever else. The Super Zeroes lined up.png

It's a great and intriguing concept since we always knew before that the PowerPuff Girls were great superheroes already. Yet now they've seen the comics and are doubting their selves, the fact is though, you can just about understand why they would doubt their selves since the ones in the comics are more what people would expect superheroes to be like.

With such a great concept, the plot only needed to be very simple, 3 attempts to beat the monster in their new costumes and weapons that fail for different reasons until the monster explains they were always fine as they were before. There's something else I love that I'd like to elaborate on though, the first time is because they were making their new costumes and taking too long to get dressed in them and the monster had left by the time they were ready. The second time, they sleep in their costumes and it's the fact that the first time they missed it for the same reason, taking too long to get into costume, but the second time they each had an different reason. Blossom has a car and just gets stuck in traffic, good point, why do superheroes bother with cars? Bubbles tries to pogo stick the whole way which takes all day and Buttercup only goes at night by which time they miss the monster again.

The third time, they sleep at the scene, try to use their weapons until the monster yells "STOP". I feel I don't really need to say anything about the ending monologue coming from the monster, but I do remember watching this as a kid and really loving him talking about making it back to monster island and becoming a hero.

So as he shows the PowerPuff Girls they never needed to change, this was addressing FaceBook at a time before FaceBook, the girls were led to forget about what was great about theirselves, just because others do, or if it seems like the expectation, it doesn't mean you need it. You can think you seem to be plain, not worth talking about, but there was nothing wrong with you how you were before... aw!
