Characters' Different Languages Names are the different names in various languages to The Powerpuff Girls characters.

The Powerpuff Girls' Names[]

  • In France, their names are Belle ("beautiful") for Blossom, Bulle ("bubble") for Bubbles and Rebelle ("rebel") for Buttercup.
  • In Italy, their names are Lolly (Blossom), Dolly (Bubbles) and Molly (Buttercup).
  • In China, their Chinese names are two same Chinese words, not actually translated by original English names. Their names in Chinese are "花花" (Huahua, "flower") for Blossom, "泡泡" (Paopao, "bubble") for Bubbles and "毛毛" (Maomao, "hairy") for Buttercup.
    • The name "Buttercup" in Chinese means "毛茛" (Maogen), "毛毛" is the first character of "毛茛" being repeated twice.
  • In the Latin-American Spanish dub as Las Chicas Superpoderosas, their names are Bombón ("bonbon") for Blossom, Burbuja ("bubble") for Bubbles and Bellota ("acorn") for Buttercup.
  • In the Castilian Spanish dub as Las Supernenas, their names are Pétalo ("petal") for Blossom, Burbuja ("bubble") for Bubbles and Cactus ("cactus") for Buttercup.
  • In the Brazilian Portuguese dub, their names are Florzinha (Blossom), Lindinha (Bubbles) and Docinho (Buttercup).
  • In the European Portuguese dub, their names were Florzinha (Blossom), Bonitinha (Bubbles) and Manteiguinha (Buttercup). However, in the 2016 reboot, it has been changed to the same names as the English version.
  • In Poland, their names are Bójka ("fight") for Blossom, Bajka ("fairy tale") for Bubbles and Brawurka (soften version of a word "daredevil") for Buttercup.
  • In Japan, their Japanese names are in Katakana, their names in Japanese are "ブロッサム (Burossamu)" for Blossom, "バブルス (Baburusu)" for Bubbles and "バターカップ (Batākappu)" for Buttercup. However, they are the translations of the same names as the English version.
  • In Denmark, their names are Blomst (Blossom), Bobbel (Bubbles) and Bellis (Buttercup).
  • In Norway, their names are Blomst (Blossom), Boble (Bubbles) and Belle (Buttercup).
    • Buttercup's Noruegian name is the same as Blossom's French name.
    • In Denmark and Norway, Blossom's name is the same.
  • Na Sweden, their names are Blomman (Blossom), Bubblan (Bubbles), and Buttran (Buttercup).
  • Na Finland, their names are Papu (Blossom), Pipa (Bubbles) and Poppana (Buttercup).
    • Bubbles' Finnish name means "Kite" in Portuguese.
  • In Hungary, their names are Sziporka (Blossom), Puszedli (Bubbles) and Csuporka (Buttercup).

The Rowdyruff Boys' Names[]

  • In France, their names are Baléze (Brick), Fierabra (Boomer) and Bâtard (Butch).
    • Butch's French name means literally Bastard in French.
  • In Italy, their names are Lino (Brick), Dino (Boomer) and Mino (Butch). The individual names have the same initial letters as The Powerpuff Girls' Italian names, only with a different suffix each.
  • In China, their Chinese names are two same Chinese words, not actually translated by original English names. Their names in Chinese are "比比" (Bibi, "ratio") for Brick, "布布" (Bubu, "cloth") for Boomer and "巴巴" (Baba, "moth") for Butch.
    • Butch's Chinese name "巴巴" comes from "巴巴雅嘎" (Baba Yaga), literally Baba Yaga in Chinese.
  • In the Latin-American Spanish dub, their names were Bajeza ("baseness") for Brick, Bandido ("bandit") for Boomer and Bacteria ("bacterium") for Butch. However, after their resurrection by HIM, it has been changed to the same names as the English version.
  • In the Castilian Spanish dub, their names are Ladrillo ("brick") for Brick, Trueno ("thunder") for Boomer and Carnicero ("butcher") for Butch.
  • In the Brazilian Portuguese dub as Os Meninos Desordeiros, their names are Durão (Brick), Explosão (Boomer) and Fortão (Butch). The individual names have the different initial letters, and the same suffix "ão", as The Powerpuff Girls' Brazilian names, however with the suffix "inha", except for Buttercup.
    • The names of Brick and Buttercup begin with "D" and the names of Butch and Blossom begin with "F" in Portuguese from Brazil.
  • In the European Portuguese dub as Os Rapazes Rufias, their names are possibly Durão (Brick), Explosão (Boomer) and Fortão (Butch). However, they are the possible names such as the Brazilian names like Blossom's name "Florzinha" in both the Brazilian and European Portuguese dubs.
  • In Poland, their names are Bryk (Brick), Bubel (Boomer) and Bat (Butch).

  • In the Brazil as As Meninas Superpunks (lit. "The Superpunk Girls"), their names are Furiosa (Berserk), Pirralha (Brat) and Bruta (Brute).
    • The names of Blossom and Berserk begin with "F" in Portuguese from Brazil. However, the word "berserk" is translated in Portuguese as "furioso(a)", it has the same meaning as the word "furious".
  • In Japan, their Japanese names are in Katakana, their names in Japanese are "バーサーク (Bāsāku)" for Berserk, "ブラット (Buratto)" for Brat and "ブルート (Burūto)" for Brute. However, they are the translations of the same names as the English version.
