Takaaki Ayagai, Cody in the English dub, is a character in Powerpuff Girls Z.
He is introduced as Miyako Gotokuji's first crush who is, as a human, always shown in poor health. The English dub implies this is due to brittle bones whereas the Japanese leaves this a fairly open question. He First appears in Bubbles' Troubles/Bubbles First Love' and then In 'Bubbles and The Beast'.
In his Bestial form he is described by Momoko Akatsutsumi as looking a bit like a werewolf and a bit like a lion. This is a fairly accurate description barring his metallic legs and later bat-like wings.
Biography[]
Chronologically we first see him as a boy likely younger than ten years of age attempting to defend Bubbles and several other young girls from three unnamed bullies, he nearly gets beaten in the process but manages to escape unscathed from the encounter.
It is heavily implied that both his selfless defense of her and his talent with a bubble wand inspired Miyako in the future as she remember him and his acts years later.
He is hospitalized for the next seven years and during this time is said to have helped support just about every other child in the ward.
In Bubble's Troubles he is transformed into a vaguely wolf-like monster and remains like this, living in the forest until near the end of Bubbles and The Beast, after which we seem him once again in the same hospital implied in English to be on the road to recovery this time.
Abilities[]
In his Bestial form Takaaki can move with extreme speed, jump extraordinarily high and eventually gains the power of flight for a short time, finally he is extremely durable taking a direct hit from Buttercups Hammer in both of his appearances without so much as a scratch becoming visible afterwards.
