Sanford D. "Snake" Ingleberry[1] is a supporting villain in The Powerpuff Girls and the second-in-command of the Gangreen Gang. He looks similar to a snake (referring to his name), hissing after each word he speaks through. He is voiced by Tom Kenny.

Appearance[]

Snake has a long, skinny body with a curve in his back and slanted pink eyes. Over his long, messy black hair he wears a brown Kangol hat that is always worn backwards. He also wears a white tank top with black and yellow stripes, matching sweatbands, orange shorts, and black hi-top sneakers.

Personality[]

Snake is a snively, menacing, sycophantic delinquent. He is very good at pulling tricks and getting away with them. Snake also likes to steal things and will steal anything he can get his hands on. Overall, he is very mischievous and sneaky and you can always guarantee that he is up to something evil, though when he is, it is not too difficult to stop him. This is because Snake is not the sharpest knife in the drawer as he will constantly say something stupid or wrong which will result in him getting punched in the face by Ace. He seems to only do things to please his friends rather than at his own will. His ability to slither around was noted in the episode Slave the Day when he slithered to the top of the railroad platform.

  • From 2002 onwards, his hairs on his neck are gone, and his strained voice smoothened out, making him sound more menacing.
  • It was revealed in Schoolhouse Rocked his full name is Sanford D. Ingleberry.
    • His last name is a reference to the insult "Dingleberry".
  • Power Lunch is the only episode where Snake is seen without his hat.
  • It is unknown if his black lips are from a lipstick or not.
  • Due to his pointy nose, his face is never shown from the front.
