Roach Coach is a villain in the animated television series The Powerpuff Girls. He appeared in the episode "Insect Inside" where he took over the city of Townsville, with a whole army of cockroaches.
Biography[]
On the outside, Roach Coach appears to be a pale, somewhat short man with thin black hair, yellow eyes, a large pink nose, and two antennae. He is wearing a white sleeveless shirt, brown plaid shorts, and black shoes.
However, he is actually a robot controlled by a cockroach. The cockroach appears like the other ones in the series, having a brown head, a black body, and two long antennae.
Personality[]
Roach Coach is a villain with no problem using disgusting means of taking over the city. He clearly voices his disdain for people's ways, seeing them as repulsive creatures. His motivation is to show people their "true masters" - cockroaches.
Roach Coach tactfully uses people's fear of insects to allow his roach army to infest the town, with no one able to combat their sheer number.
Roach Coach is protective of his army of cockroaches. When he saw the giant jar that his cockroach army was imprisoned in, he became so enraged that he blew his red whistle.
Weapons[]
Roach Coach has a cockroach cadet named Skippy, who gathers information about individuals of Roach Coach's concern.
Roach Coach's most prominent weapon is his army of roaches. To gather them around, he uses a red whistle that is very quiet to the human ear. Roach Coach can then command his roaches to infest anything, as large as the entire city of Townsville.
Roach Coach later lets his cockroaches crawl over his body to create one giant cockroach monster. With this form, he is able to absorb the Powerpuff Girls and keep them trapped inside with roaches crawling all over them.
Episode Appearances[]
Roach Coach's only major role is in Insect Inside. Two other episodes briefly mention him. Roach Coach later made an appearance in The Powerpuff Girls Rule!!!, as one of the many villains looking for the Key to the World.

Trivia[]
- When Roach Coach said, "Come to papa", it may have been a reference to rock band Papa Roach.
- Roach Coach might have been an inspiration for Dr. Blowhole from Nickelodeon and DreamWorks' The Penguins of Madagascar. Dr. Blowhole controls an army of lobsters like how Roach Coach controls an army of cockroaches.
- A "Roach Coach" is slang for a food service cart or food service truck (presumably one with poor upkeep/hygiene). These are also known as "Street Meat" trucks.
- Even though Roach Coach only plays a major role in one episode, he is mentioned in the full version of the ending theme.
- He is the only character to appear on one of the bumpers of Cartoon Network's "Powerhouse" era, besides the Powerpuff Girls themselves.
