Rainy Day

Rainy Day is the thirty-second episode of the 2016 Powerpuff Girls series. It aired on Cartoon Network on October 22, 2016.

Synopsis[]

The girls find trouble when they try to occupy themselves on a rainy day.

Plot[]

A thunderstorm keeps the girls indoors with nothing to do, until Bubbles and Buttercup get the idea to play in the Professor's lab despite being told not to and against Blossom's objections. When she tries to stop them, Buttercup accidentally pushes her into a Time Dasher machine that changes Blossom into forms of different eras. Bubbles and Buttercup scramble to fix the problem before the Professor finds out.

The title might be confused with the 1998 Powerpuff Girls series episode "The Powerpuff Girls' Best Rainy Day Adventure Ever".
Robo Blossom is an obvious parody of RoboCop.
Cave Blossom is possibly homage to 1998 series episode "Seed No Evil".
Oligopoly also an obvious parody of a famous board game Monopoly.
When Cave Blossom cried "Blossom, smash!" might be a homage of Hulk's catchphrase "Hulk, smash!" from the Marvel franchise.
The portal gun Buttercup uses is a possible reference to the Portal video game series by Valve.
This episode is included on the The Powerpuff Girls: The Last Donnycorn (V2) DVD.

Running gag[]
