Pilot was to be the first episode of Powerpuff. It was originally believed to be potentially set to air on CW sometime in 2021, but it was scrapped to be redeveloped and reshot, with CW chairman and CEO Mark Pedowitz calling the first pilot “a miss.” However, production on Powerpuff ceased before rework on the episode could be completed.
Synopsis[]
When a 17-year-old Blossom accidentally kills Mojo Mondel during a fight, a fringe group of Anti-Powerpuff Protestors gain enough popularity to force The Mayor to pass a law, banning The Powerpuff Girls from fighting crime in Townsville ever again.
Plot[]
Note: The plot of this episode is derived entirely from a leaked script that was supposed to be pulled and rewritten but ultimately did not.
In the year 2003, The Powerpuff Girls fly through the skies of Townsville and beat up a Three-Headed Pegasus Monster, that wreaks havoc on the city. Buttercup takes the first shot by punching it, Bubbles uses her ice breath to freeze it, and Blossom ties it up, incapacitating it completely. After defeating the monster, the girls receive applaud from the citizens of the city and they all take a bow.
A flashback to 1996, shows Professor Drake Utonium in his laboratory with his lab assistant, Mojo Mondel, who create The Powerpuff Girls.
The Powerpuff Girls later sit around the table and enjoy dinner with Professor Utonium and his girlfriend, Sara Bellum and together, they all form somewhat of a family, with Drake being the official father of the three girls as Sara being the closest thing they have to a mom. However, their cozy-laughter filled dinner is interrupted when the First Bank of Townsville gets robbed by Fuzzy Lumpkins. The Powerpuff Girls go over there and do a synchronized dance before landing an attack on him.
While this event takes place, Mojo Mondel watches this live on the news, sickened with envy as he wanted to use the Chemical X on himself and give himself the powers that the girls had. He then turns off the TV and walks over to the window, where he sees the three streaks of light from The Powerpuff Girls fly overhead. Just his, Mojo's son, Jojo runs up and looks through the window to see the girls, amazed by The Powerpuff Girls, especially Blossom, who's his favorite of the trio. Mojo leaves, stewing with rage over his son's admiration for The Powerpuff Girls.
Back at the Utonium House, Drake and The Powerpuff Girls watch another news broadcast, where Mojo Mondel stands at a podium before an Anti-Powerpuff rally, where he announces that he'd worked with Drake for years and invented the Chemical X himself, only to have it stolen by Drake, who used it on The Powerpuff Girls and didn't share it with him. Mojo claims that although The Powerpuff Girls may defend their city from monsters, there's nobody to defend the city from The Powerpuff Girls. Watching the news from home, Blossom says that she'd never do anything evil and Drake lets her know not to listen to Mojo as he's a sad and bitter man who they shouldn't worry about and that the girls are more popular now than ever.
However, as great as things are for The Powerpuff Girls now, they'll soon be fighting a battle even worse than any battle they'd ever fought before. A battle against puberty.
Flash forward to 2013, where the now 17-year-old Powerpuff Girls wake up. Buttercup says that she was up all night, texting her girlfriend, Rachel, to convince her that she wasn't cheating on her with other girls. Blossom points out that Buttercup is actually cheating and Buttercup admits that this is true but she put in a lot of effort to convince her that she wasn't and she doesn't want to lose all that. Bubbles is passed out on the floor, completely hungover. The Powerpuff Hotline rings and Buttercup picks it up only to hang up immediately, asking Bubbles where she was last night. Bubbles says that she was with her friends at the Townsville Zoo, forcing the flamingos to drink hpnotiq. The girls all get out of bed and put on their dresses, these being the same kind of dresses they wore when they were little girls. Although Blossom is completely fine with wearing the dress, Buttercup is strongly opposed, as she claims it to be oppressive to her sexuality. Blossom tells Buttercup that if she has a problem with her mandated outfit to take it up with their dad but Buttercup claims that she doesn't like their dad because he treats them like a product he developed as opposed to actual human beings.
shuffle out the front door, sullen and reluctant to fight another battle. A hungover Bubbles asks if they'll have to be fighting a monster known as Swampy again. Drake pops out of the house, followed by Sara and asks Bubbles where her pigtails are, reminding her that she has to stick to the "character bible", Sara, however, contradicts him and tells him that Bubbles is not a character and therefore, doesn't need to follow these rules. Drake appears to be a very controlling and somewhat sheltering parent, telling the girls that they can only have two outside friends and have an unlimited choice of afterschool activities to keep up their public image, while Sara acts like the complete opposite. Drake tells Sara to stay out of his family business, as she is not part of the family. Before they can continue to fight, Blossom flies off with the other girls to fight Swampy.
The Powerpuff Girls fly off to fight Swampy but during their battle a laser beam comes out, grazes Swampy and just misses the girls. The laser came from a giant squid robot operated by none other than Mojo Mondel. Jojo sits in a control panel room back at home and co-pilots his dad from a control panel screen, while holding a Blossom action figure. Jojo urges his dad through the microphone to be careful and not hurt them but Mojo ignores him completely. A bunch of Anti-Powerpuff protestors come up and one of them throws a Slurpee at Buttercup. Buttercup flies down, red hot and threatens to kill the protestor. Blossom asks her sisters for some help fighting Mojo but Bubbles is busy fighting Swampy and Buttercup is busy engaging with the protestors. Mojo blasts a laser that misses Blossom and blows up a building which explodes into pieces of concrete. Blossom catches two chunks of concrete and kicks a third one into the air, where it explodes into fragments and rains shrapnel down into Mojo's robot, causing it fall to the ground and gets destroyed, which kills Mojo instantly. Jojo looks upon the destruction and his eyes start to well up with tears. He calls out to his dad but doesn't get a response. Blossom looks down on the remains of the destroyed robot and sees the windows are scrawled with blood. Blossom starts to hyperventilate, having a full-blown panic attack, now having to deal with the fact that she just murdered somebody.
The next day, a newscaster sits beside a news banner reading "A Townsville Divided", where he details how in wake of the recent death of Mojo Jojo, The Powerpuff Girls have since taken a blow to their reputation and a group of Anti-Powerpuff Girls protestors have gained massive popularity and made it clear to the public that their goal is to banish The Powerpuff Girls. They then cut to live footage of The Mayor, announcing that he's officially banning The Powerpuff Girls from fighting in Townsville.
Bubbles and Buttercup watch this unfortunate news from their homes and Buttercup goes into Blossom's room to check on her. When she enters, Blossom is nowhere to be found as she has apparently packed her bags and fled town without telling anyone. Blossom is sees flying away as fast as she can with a suitcase strapped to her back. Buttercup is so mad about everything that she leaves the house, where she's immediately swarmed by news reporters and a camera crew. Buttercup screams and cusses at the camera crew, insulting them and the entire city of Townsville as a whole, announcing the end of The Powerpuff Girls.
After Blossom leaves the team, the other two girls decide to go their separate ways and officially disband The Powerpuff Girls.
Buttercup moves to Oregon and shortens her name to "Bee" and gets a job, working as a firefighter, where she's seen flying out of a 20-story burning building, saving the life of a little boy. The little boy is a huge fan of The Powerpuff Girls and Buttercup prepares to impress him by using her ice breath to put out the fire, much to the little boy's amazement, only for a firefighter to show up with an actual hose and put out the fire himself instead.
Bubbles moves to Hollywood, where she continues to keep pushing the Powerpuff brand name and make a living off of selling Powerpuff girl merchandise. Apparently, since her move to Hollywood, Bubbles has tried to find success again with media fame only to fail three times to launch a reality show and also to go through rehab twice. Now, she's pivoted to direct sales at Hollywood Boulevard, which works very well for her as several tourists are happy to see the real Bubbles.
Blossom sits in a lecture hall at an elite women's college in the Northeast, where she works on getting a good education and pursuing a better life, where she can leave her regrettable history as a Powerpuff girl forever.
Flashfoward to present day in the year 2021, where Blossom has gotten a gob at a Boston-area biotech firm and is now celebrating her 25th birthday with her boyfriend and biotech firm co-worker, Clive, a day before her actual birthday, since she has some out-of-state business to attend to on the date of her actual birthday. Unfortunately for her, this business is in Townsville and she dreads having to go back there. Clive comforts her and tells her that she won't need to go back there again because this weekend, she'll be quitting her job. He does remind her, however, that she'll be seeing her sisters again for the first time since she left them back in 2013. Clive reminds Blossom of the advice she got from her psychologist, Dr. Pat, telling her to calm herself by visualizing her inner child, which actually works very well for her. When she does this, she sees somewhat of an apparition of herself when she was younger, who is very comforting and helpful in guiding her through the madness of her life.
At Townsville Hall, Jojo, now the mayor, rages at his desk with a pet monkey by his side. Jojo rants at his 50-year-old secretary, Gina about how he's trailing in the polls. Jojo doesn't understand why he's not testing well with the citizens if he's delivered on all his promises. Gina explains to him that because Townsville is such a safe place, due to the monsters all going away, none of the citizens are voting from a place of fear anymore and Jojo has no way to scare them into voting for him. To make matters worse for Jojo, Gina also tells him that The Powerpuff Girls are coming back in town for the weekend, which fills Jojo with dread. Jojo thinks of a way to get rid of The Powerpuff Girls and then gets the idea to call up a friend of his named "Short Stack".
The next day at the Townsville Airport, Buttercup and Bubbles arrive at the same time. Bubbles, accompanied by a camera man, known as Ace, who she hired to capture her reunion with her sisters. Buttercup lets Bubbles know that this "reunion" is only gunna be for the weekend, because unlike her, she's not interested in teaming up with her and reforming The Powerpuff Girls again but she's still glad to see her again. The three of them head down to Townsville, where they learn about how Jojo is now the mayor and remember how he used to have such a huge crush on Blossom. Bubbles suggests that while they're in town, they should meet up with Sara again but Buttercup tells her that Drake ruined his relationship with her. Bubbles is aware of this, knowing that now, he's just a spinster who sleeps around with random women and can't seem to hold a down consistent relationship with any of them. They also pass by a store that still sells Powerpuff Girl merchandise and even displays it in the front window, despite how the town kicked them out so long ago. Bubbles brings up how it was because of them that Townsville is even a well-known city. Buttercup worries for Blossom as she hasn't even communicated with them since she left other than a few holiday texts. Bubbles says that she wishes she could have gone and seen Blossom herself but Drake made it mandatory that they stay in the town, so that Blossom can get her trust funds when she quits her job as he still maintains some level of power over her. When they get to their destination, they can see that Fuzzy Lumpkins is leading an angry mob of Anti-Powerpuff protestors outside of their house and for some reason, the press was alerted by none other than Drake.
Bubbles and Buttercup get out of the car and ward off their protestors to find the one solitary fan of theirs; a little girl named Henrietta, who admires The Powerpuff Girls and sees them as feminist icons. Bubbles goes in to hug Henrietta but notices a furry caterpillar on her shoulder and out of fear, swats it away. Henrietta cries as this caterpillar was her pet, who she named Gloria. Buttercup begins to apologize on Bubbles' behalf but just then, Drake comes out and Bubbles gleefully reunites with him. All the while, Ace films for the documentary.
They all go into the house and Buttercup asks Drake why he called the press, knowing that Blossom would have a panic attack if she sees them but Bubbles isn't worried, since she found out from her social media that Blossom is doing just fine for herself now and believes it's time for them to leave the murder of Mojo Mondel in the past. Surprisingly enough, Blossom is in the house, having already arrived and having heard the entire conversation. Blossom is ever so happy to see her sisters again and they all go in for one big group hug, which Ace gets on camera. Ace then introduces himself to Drake, as a member of a company called Virgo Management.
That night, the girls all celebrate their reunion/25th joint birthday. Everyone is so happy to be back together, although Blossom is still a little distraught. She takes a look at the Powerpuff hotline, which is sitting in a bell jar as though it were on display at a museum. This brings back some bad memories of the Mojo incident and she down a glass of wine to drink away her sorrows. Buttercup reminds everybody why they're all here; to collect their trust funds, after selling their childhoods away. Drake tells Buttercup that she loved being a Powerpuff girl but Blossom tells him that they didn't have much of a choice but to enjoy it. Bubbles on the other hand is the only member of the team, who actually liked being a Powerpuff girl and still does today. Drake tells The Powerpuff Girls that the main reason he gathered them together here today is because it's possible that the a darkness may be returning to Townsville as the monsters might be coming back. This quickly sends Blossom into another full-on panic attack, where she loses consciousness.
Back at Henrietta's Lair, we see Henrietta return to her laboratory in an apartment, where she repairs her broken caterpillar, Gloriam revealing it to actually be mechanical. Around her are hundreds of robotic caterpillars crawling around. She plays some music on her record player and quickly gets a noise complaint from her next-door apartment neighbor Mr. Carruthers. Henrietta then sends a glow worm to crawl through the air vents and then seep into Mr. Carruthers' ear, possessing him and controlling his mind.
Meanwhile, back at the house, Bubbles and Buttercup wake Blossom up by singing "Breakaway" by Kelly Clarkson. They then hear, Drake playing Halloween music downstairs and go down to see him dancing around and drinking Go-Gurt. Drake says that whenever he sees someone faint, he feels the need to faint and the only way to combat that is to consume sugar and dance around. The Powerpuff Girls all sit down and see Drake pull up a Powerpoint, alerting them to a possible danger facing Townsville. He shows them a Nextdoor thread titled "IS ANYONE ELSE'S INTERNET FUCKED!?", which harbors several complaints from neighbors, regarding their internet glitching out. Drake states that he investigated this conundrum and found out that the internet provider is not to blame for the internet malfunctioning, specifically for the people of their neighborhood and nobody else. Rather, it comes from an unusual concentration of high-frequency technology coming from a nearby area. Likely something that comes from a secret laboratory of sorts. Bubbles is immediately on board with this but Buttercup doesn't seem to care, as she's skeptical if Drake just staged this to get them back together. Drake assures them he did no such thing and this is a serious issue that requires them to help. However, Bubbles is the only person who is on board with this recon mission. She manages to convince Buttercup to join her just this once but Blossom is strictly opposed as she just has too much PTSD. Drake lets Blossom stay behind with him, while Bubbles and Buttercup go off to do the mission together. Blossom worries about having to be alone with Drake and the apparition of her past self tells her that she should really go on the mission and help her sisters.
Blossom drives her rental car through Townsville with Bubbles and Buttercup in the back, looking for the source of all this technology and they assume it comes somewhere from the nearby volcano, belonging to The Rowdy Rough Boys [sic]. Bubbles recaps just who The Rowdy Rough Boys were to the camera, saying that they were basically a group of boys who starred in their own Powerpuff Girl spin-off series, which didn't do too well, ratings-wise. Bubbles suspects The Rowdy Rough Boys have gone rogue, in an attempt to reboot their franchise.
When the girls go into the volcano, the place is popping as a huge rave is taking place. There, Butch is working as an extremely hot bartender and Bubbles, his ex-girlfriend reunites with him. The two of them are very happy to see each other again, since the last time they were together, Bubbles cancelled their engagement and pawned off her ring for drugs. The two of them clearly have some kind of a love-hate relationship but Butch agrees to serve up shots to the girls so they can party at the volcano. There, Buttercup makes bedroom eyes with a hot girl across the bar named Macy. Blossom reminds Buttercup that they're here to investigate but Buttercup breaks the ice to say that the only one here to investigate is Bubbles, as she's here to pick up hot girls and Blossom is only here to get away from Drake. Before long, the three girls are all sitting around a table, partying, throwing back shots, discussing hilarious moments from the past, and overall, just having a blast, just like old times. Blossom is finally happy and takes a moment to cherish how good of a time she's having right now. Her apparition comes up and tells her to admit that she is having fun, just like she always does when she's with her sisters. Bubbles goes over to Butch, who seems to have loosened up some and asks him about a secret room labeled "DO NOT ENTER". She gets on his case about this being a secret laboratory but Butch just laughs this off and tells her that it's top secret and she's not allowed in there but Bubbles has her eyes on the prize. Blossom's good time is soon interrupted by the possessed Mr. Carruthers, who comes in and starts hitting on Blossom. Unnerved, Blossom tries to escape but Mr. Carruthers stops her. Buttercup steps in to help out her sister by Mr. Carruthers attacks her. Buttercup isn't having any of it, so she flings him across the room. At this time, Bubbles is making out with Butch and secretly trying to inch her way over to the "DO NOT ENTER" room. Mr. Carruthers slams through the door and breaks it open. Bubbles seizes the opportunity to look inside but all she finds is that it's a storage closet filled with cleaning utensils and pesticides.
After this wild party, The Powerpuff Girls leave, with Butch carrying Bubbles out against her will, as she flails and screams at him that she's a national treasure and deserves better treatment that this. After Butch kicks them out, Bubbles lashes out at Buttercup for attacking Mr. Carruthers but Buttercup tries to explain that he was creeping on poor Blossom and she was just trying to save her. Blossom scolds Buttercup as well, telling her that Mr. Carruthers had a weird yellow glint in his eyes and she was trying to suss him out. Buttercup can't believe the way her sister is acting and starts to get emotional, chastising her for leaving the team, when they needed her the most. Buttercup was pissed off when Blossom left and just wants the old Blossom back. Bubbles nods in Ace's direction, indicating that he wants him to record this juicy drama scene. Buttercup tells Blossom that she used to be so strong and authoritative but now, she's so closed off and weak. Blossom spits back at Buttercup, telling her that she believes she's changed for the better, unlike her and Bubbles, who are still getting into bar fights like they were when they were 15. Blossom and Buttercup notice that Ace is recording their personal moment and the two try to shut off the camera but Bubbles blocks them, starting a fight that only gets more out of control. Bubbles and Buttercup circle each other, preparing to beat each other up with their superpowers. During this time, Blossom notices a razor scooter charging station across the street, runs over there, and uses Drake's technology to analyze it. She discovers that this razor scooter charging station is the "concentrated technology" Drake was warning them about and then tells the other girls. This breaks up their fight as the two just start laughing and mocking Drake for wasting their time. The girls decide to call it a night and head home but not before Bubbles and Ace get some b-roll of the scooters.
Three floors up in an apartment complex, Henrietta watches the girls from her window, being the apartment right above the charging station, revealing that her apartment full of robot worms is the power source Drake was talking about. In her apartment with her is Jojo, telling her that she needs to quit slacking and start bugging the girls' ears with mind-control worms. The girls collect their trust fund and leave in 12 hours and she needs to act quick if she wants this plan to succeed. Jojo plans on controlling the girls to throw a bus full of children into a lake or something so that he can stop it and save the day, cementing his re-election. Henrietta tells Jojo that she knows the whole play by play of his plan and she just make an attempt to send Mr. Carruthers in to possess Blossom and it was a complete bust. Jojo is sick of waiting around. He threatens that if she fails, he's going to force her to eat every single one of her robotic bugs, turn her into the FBI, and make her the youngest person in America to be executed. Henrietta is stricken with fear but she gets the message. Jojo leaves once again reminding her about this time limit, which really whips Henrietta into shape.
Drake ponders how his suspicions about a concentrated technology source could be wrong and Blossom accuses him of making it up to reunite them. Bubbles, still believing Drake, mentions how Mr. Carruthers attacked Blossom at the bar. Just then, they hear some thumping noises coming from upstairs. Blossom goes upstairs to see Buttercup having sex with Macy. Blossom freaks out and apologizes and leaves to give them some privacy but Buttercup lets her know that everything is okay, since she and her girlfriend have just "finished" anyway, after their sixth time having sex. Bubbles and Drake enter to see the same sight and Buttercup announces that after today, she'll be leaving to go back to Oregon and asks Macy to come with her. Blossom expresses her frustration with Drake for being such a horrible father and leaves.
Blossom goes to Sara's House to meet her once again. Sara is delighted to see Blossom again and the two catch up. Blossom talks about how horrible of a father Drake was to her and Sara defends him, saying that he was only forcing her to live such a horrible childhood because he loved her. Blossom deduces that Sara still loves Drake, which apparently she does.
Bubbles and Drake review the footage she took during Bubbles' mission with the girls and there they find Henrietta standing in the window of the apartment by the razor scooters. Bubbles remembers her as the fangirl who had a caterpillar on her shoulder from before and Drake sees this as a clue. Drake then receives a text from Blossom, warning them that if they're still investigating, to be alert of the bar fly's yellow eyes.
Henrietta works on three new woolly bears to possess the brains of The Powerpuff Girls. She shows them to Jojo and explains that these were all given homing devices that will direct them specifically toward The Powerpuff Girls. They're all color coded to match their victims. Henrietta tells Jojo that the worms aren't finished yet but Jojo, growing impatient, doesn't care and just sends them on their way.
The woolly bears all go to The Utonium House and without even knowing, The Powerpuff Girls absent-mindedly hinder their plans. The blue woolly bear goes into the bathroom to possess Bubbles but she puts on a hat that covers her ears, preventing it from entering. The pink woolly bear lands on Blossom and she just assumes it's a normal worm and sets it down on a leaf, where it falls off and lands in a puddle, where it short circuits. Buttercup has some coffee, where she sees the green woolly bear and freaks out. She throws the woolly bear into the sink and destroys it in the garbage disposal, leaving only the blue woolly bear alive.
On the day of the meeting, where The Powerpuff Girls finally get their trust fund, the girls are accompanied by a lawyer, named Larry who's going to help them with their transaction. The blue woolly bear approaches Bubbles, who has since removed her ear hat. However, during this meeting, Drake says that he can only give them $5,000 in trust funds, due to him blowing all of it, investing in fidget spinners back in 2008. This is the final straw for The Powerpuff Girls, as even Bubbles finally snaps and throws a fit of rage at Drake, unwittingly flinging the woolly bear away. She then flies off in anger and Buttercup follows her. As Blossom scolds Drake, the blue woolly bear crawls into his ear and possesses him, unbeknownst to her.
Bubbles wakes up, hungover in prison, after she went on a drunken tirade around town and freed the snakes from the zoo, believing them to be legless lizards. Ace comes in to bail her out.
Back at the house, the mangled green woolly bear that Buttercup attacked, crawls out of the sink, still barely alive, where it goes after Blossom. Still not noticing the worm, Blossom hears the phone ringing and goes upstairs to see it, with the woolly bear, crawling after her. When she goes upstairs, Buttercup, planning a flight to Peru with her $5,000, says that the phone ringing was actually just the landline. Blossom still can't shake the feeling that there was something off about that yellow-eyed guy at the bar but Buttercup tells her that it was most likely hepatitis. Just then, the green mangled worm managed to possess Macy, instantly turning her into a yellow-eyed killing machine, confirming Blossom's suspicions. The Powerpuff Girls fight with Macy and knock the worm out of her ear, which they then look down at in awe.
The girls go to Drake's laboratory, where they dissect the woolly bear and discover that it's AI. Blossom starts to piece together what's going on. Somebody engineered those worms to control people's minds, such as Mr. Carruthers and Macy. Bubbles once again brings up Henrietta, the girl who had one of these very woolly bears on her shoulder and who was spotted in the apartment right across from the volcano, making it clear that this girl was definitely behind everything. Just then, some news comes on the TV, saying that everyone in Townsville is throwing a riot.
Jojo sits in his lair, while all the chaos ensues on TV, looking in the mirror, choosing what tie to wear. Henrietta comes up and recaps the plan. The plan is to loosen all of the worms into the streets of Townsville so that they can possess a bunch of people and amp up their aggravation and make them even more crazy. Next, they'll be controlling Drake to confess to having done all of it, himself so that people will hate him and The Powerpuff Girls, landing Jojo's election win in the bag. Henrietta unleashes all of her robot worms into the streets to possess the citizens, helping Jojo's plan come to fruition.
The Powerpuff Girls see on the news that Jojo is making a speech, announcing how he blames Drake for everything. News footage then shows Drake standing on the roof of a building, screaming evil things. The Powerpuff Girls know that this is all just fake as Drake is clearly possessed and so the girls all set out to save him, despite how he treated them in the past.
The Powerpuff Girls drive the Puff-Mobile, which is a white sprinter van so they can fight the crime in the city. Although they're initially conflicted about saving the people from the town that rejected them, especially when it comes to someone as morally grey as Drake but they decide to go for it anyway. They're superheroes after all. All except for Blossom who has a panic attack and flees, leaving Bubbles and Buttercup to take care of everything themselves.
Bubbles and Buttercup devise a plan. They remember that knocking the worm out of Macy's head is what cured her of the possession and think of a way to do that same thing with all of the citizens of Townsville, by frying the bugs out of the brains of everyone. Their plan is to use electrolysis. Bubbles notices that everyone is standing in water and so she and Buttercup uproot a telephone pole and lightly touch it to the water, electrocuting the worms out of everybody's heads.
Meanwhile, Blossom panics in the alley, when she's visited by the apparition of her younger self, motivating her to go back into the fray and help her sisters like the hero she is.
Henrietta reveals herself to Bubbles and Buttercup and tells them that she has total control over Drake. She then orders Drake to jump off the building to kill himself, which he does. Bubbles and Buttercup want to save Drake but neither of them are capable, as they're too busy holding the telephone pole and know that if they drop it, they'll kill everyone with the electricity. However, Blossom flies in and saves his life. Blossom slaps Drake to knock the woolly bear out of his head, much to Bubbles and Buttercup's delight. In one last attempt to stop The Powerpuff Girls, Henrietta orders all of her woolly bears to come toward her and form a giant person to fight them but before she can even do that, Buttercup electrocutes her with a live wire and sends her flying into a building ... non-fatally. After The Powerpuff Girls saved the day, all of Townsville cheers for them in celebration.
After all of this chaos comes to an end, The Powerpuff Girls and Drake go back home to live their lives normally again and there's a big banner on their house put up there by the citizens of Townsville, saying "THANK YOU, POWERPUFF GIRLS!", proving that the town has started loving them again.
At home, Blossom receives a Bitmoji from Clive congratulating her for her heroism. He asks if she'll be returning to Boston with him but says he totally understands if she doesn't. Blossom doesn't know what to do. Just then, she gets a visit from Jojo, who leaves them the action figure he has of Blossom, which he gave to her as a token of his appreciation. Jojo apologizes to Blossom for hypnotizing Drake and attempting to murder him and Blossom apologizes back at him for accidentally succeeding at killing his dad. The two part ways and Blossom watches Jojo walk away, oddly drawn to him.
Blossom goes back inside and Drake tells the girls that he's sorry about the way he's treated them in the past. He claims that he now respects them as individuals instead of characters from a franchise and wants them to live normal lives now. He also says that Sara has forgiven him and is willing to come back to his life and give him a second chance. He asks the girls if they'll be coming back to live with him. The girls need some time to think and Drake excuses himself to go to his lab, while they decide. After he leaves The Powerpuff Girls slowly come to the conclusion that they should return and reunite, abandoning their respective lives they built for themselves in the other states completely. Then they start singing Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson once again, just like old times.
In Drake's laboratory, Drake repairs one of the broken woolly bears and then locks it in a secret cage, alongside many other mysterious specimens. He then looks at a picture of himself with the girls on the wall and is guilt-riden.
At Jojo's lair, Jojo sits with his pet monkey and plots to win the re-election some other way. He talks to his monkey and tells them that he took out The Powerpuff Girls once and he's confident and determined to do it again. Jojo surprisingly ends off his villainous monologue by calling the monkey "Dad".

- Buttercup: [BLEEP] YOU ALL AND [BLEEP] TOWNSVILLE! THE POWERPUFF GIRLS ARE DONE!
- Jojo: I've delivered on everything I promised, except for Free Gelato Friday and that's only because The Perfect Scoop turned out to be a front for meth trafficking.
- Jojo: Alessia Lawrence has no experience! She's impulsive and reactionary!
- Gina: She's exciting.
- Jojo: You mean, she's not a white man? ... You know, you hear about reverse discrimination but until it happens to you ...
- Gina: With all due respect, Mr. Mayor, Townsville is a candy-colored bubble of privilege and comfort. Ever since the creature attacks stopped, we're one of America's safest cities. I don't think people are voting from a place of fear.
- Jojo: What about my pet monkey!? That was meaningful in the last election!
- Gina: Post-Harambe, no one cares anymore.
- Bubbles: Buttercup! Happy birthday, betch!
- Bubbles: What the fu ... zzy Lumpkins?
- Buttercup: Dad, why'd you call the press? Blossom's gunna freak out and the last thing we need is another crack in the bell jar.
- Bubbles: Blossom's fine. I saw on her Insta that she has a boyfriend, I saw on her LinkedIn that she got promoted, and I saw on her Facebook that she still talks to Grandpa, despite their political differences.
- Buttercup: Coming back is probably triggering for her.
- Bubbles: Why? Cuz she's the one who killed Mojo? I mean, moveon.org.
- [Blossom lies on the ground unconscious]
- Buttercup: Bloss! Wake up, or we'll leak your nudes everywhere!
- [Bubbles looks at her in confusion]
- Buttercup: [to Bubbles] That worked on you once.
- [Bubbles nods her head, remembering]
- Buttercup: And you're cure this "evidence" isn't just something you staged in order to drum up a comeback for us?
- Drake: Honey, you think I would lie to you?
- Buttercup: Yes. You lie to us all the time.
- Blossom: Remember when you let that Colossal-Gopher out during sweeps?
- Drake: That was one time! We were in a ratings hole!
- Buttercup: And we ended up in a literal hole, created by a giant gopher who tried to kill us with a tree trunk!
- Drake: Now, that was good TV.
- Bubbles: Guys! How can you turn down an evil recon mission!? Especially when said mish would make a perfect storyline for my documentary: "Bubbles is Back!"
- Buttercup: Not to be confused with your other film, "Bubbles on her Back".
- Buttercup: Forget it, Bubs. Let her have boring phone sex with her pasty boyfriend.
- Bubbles: The 'Cano's owned by The Rowdy Rough Boys, three brothers who were a failed spin-off of us.
- Buttercup: Except they had no super powers and they all got Lou Perlman-ed.
- Buttercup: Bubba, let me tell you something. When we got outlawed by Townsville for accidentally killing a madman and then unceremoniously ditched by Blossom, I was pissed but it forced me to re-evaluate my life and I realized how exhausted I was defending myself against misogynist morons and pretending I was straight for the cameras. It was fun when it was about fighting baddies but it changed.
- Blossom: Yeah, it did.
- Bubbles: You guys think Jojo would do an interview for my doc?
- Buttercup: You know, I don't think he would because of that whole, "we killed his dad" thing.
- Bubbles: Bloss, you could ask for me. I bet he's still obsessed with you.
- Blossom: He was never obsessed with me.
- Buttercup: Uh, yeah he was and I bet he still is but in a kinky, angry way.
- Butch: Last time I saw you, you broke off our engagement and told me you'd pawned the ring for drugs.
- Blossom: How do you know so much about hate boners?
- Buttercup: Life is one big hate boner.
- Mr. Carruthers: Aren't you those Powderpuff Girls?
- Buttercup: Powerpuff. No "D". Like you.
- [Blossom walks in on Buttercup having sex with Macy; they just "finished"]
- Blossom: Oh, God! I'm sorry!
- Buttercup: It's fine. [to Macy] We're done, right?
- Macy: I'd say six times is enough.
- Blossom: When you're a kid, the stakes are supposed to be low. A kid should be worried about losing their lunch money or being picked picked last in PE. A kid shouldn't be worried about cat burglars or giant lizards or accidentally farting on TRL.
- Bubbles: Carson handled that well.
- Drake: I am a known homosapien.
- [Henrietta shows Jojo the special pink, blue, and green robot worms she made for The Powerpuff Girls]
- Henrietta: These are designed specifically to target them and inept their minds. Blue for Bu-
- Jojo: [cutting her off] Yeah, yeah, yeah. I got it.
- Bubbles: [furious] I always believed you and defended you, dad! Even when you sold away our likeness to that cartoon, which, by the way, totally whitewashed us! Even then, I had your back! I always had a smile on my face, I never broke character, even though there was so much more to me! I always put family and the team first, no matter what!
- Buttercup: I can't believe this. I thought Drake made it all up. Like that mom who poisoned her kid for Disney tickets.
- [The Powerpuff Girls arrive into the fray, driving the Puff-Mobile]
- Buttercup: I can't believe we didn't fly.
- Blossom: I'm sorry! You know I can't get on a plane without Xanax!
- Bubbles: I knew you were a fake fan! Nobody's favorite is Blossom.
- Buttercup: That's my BITCH right there!
- [Jojo shows Blossom the figurine he got of her]
- Blossom: Wow. Where'd you get this?
- Jojo: I actually bought it behind by dad's back when I was a kid. I had to hide it under the bed like porn ... Not because I did anything creepy with it. Just cuz he hated you.
- Buttercup: Classic hate boner.
- Bubbles: What a slut!
- [Jojo talks to his monkey]
- Jojo: I'll find another way to win the re-election. We took them out once. We can do it again. Right, dad?
