Powerpuff Girls Wiki

"Mo Job" is the 15th episode of Season 2 of The Powerpuff Girls, and the 39th episode overall.

It was produced in 1999 but premiered on Cartoon Network in the United States on February 13, 2000 as part of The Powerpuff Girls: Love Thing marathon.

Synopsis[]

Princess Morbucks is tired of failing to come up with a good plot to destroy the Powerpuff Girls, so she bribes Mojo Jojo into creating a brilliant, evil plan.

Plot[]

Unable to come up with a new plan to destroy the Powerpuff Girls, the spoiled and aristocratic Princess Morbucks sees a news report highlighting Mojo Jojo's most recent defeat. Despite their triumphs over Mojo Jojo, the girls themselves are seen in a battered state, with the reporter Stanley Whitfield noting they were nearly defeated. This catches the attention of Morbucks, who sees potential in Mojo's ability to create plans that work better than hers.

Later, Morbucks pays a visit to Mojo Jojo himself at his laboratory home atop the large volcano. Their conversation, however, is quite loud and grabs the attention of some others at the surrounding park. Morbucks asks to hire Mojo to create a plan to destroy the Girls for her. Though Mojo is reluctant to take the job at first, declaring that he is not a mercenary, Morbucks reiterates that she can give him a lot of money, after which Mojo agrees to do it. Morbucks closes the deal by literally delivering a ton of money to him via helicopter.

The financial backing of Morbucks and her father provides Mojo Jojo much needed resources for his research, experimentation, and development. Mojo Jojo unveils his plan: a hypodermic laser gun capable of shooting both Chemical X and its antidote in a laser form. Mojo prepares the Chemical X and the antidote, with Princess repeatedly asking him to carry it out before he is finished. They quickly put their plan into action, as Mojo shoots Morbucks with the gun, giving her powers like those of the Girls.

The next day, while attendance is being taken at Pokey Oaks Kindergarten, Morbucks is absent from class. The Girls hear her call for help and, missing the fact Morbucks was no brilliant actor, rush to her aid. They stumble upon her being tied up in Mojo Jojo's lair, and the fight begins. The Girls come to find Princess endowed with her new-found powers, and their usual attacks having no effect on her; even their special attacks are countered with her resistance. Meanwhile, Morbucks eggs Mojo on to use the antidote against the Girls.

As Mojo attempts to aim his gun, Blossom takes quick notice of a written sticker on the weapon denoting its purpose: to remove the Girls' powers. Blossom warns Buttercup as the gun is shot, but manages to grab Buttercup out of harm's way before she is hit. For quite some time, Mojo struggles to connect with the concussive blasts until a misfired shot is revealed to be reflected off tiles in Mojo's bathroom. Blossom quickly nabs tiles from Mojo's bathroom for each of the girls to defend themselves against the beam.

With another shot, just as that happens, the beam reflects against the tiles in such a way that it hits Morbucks as she tries to dodge it. With her powers drained, Morbucks falls to the ground and lands directly on Mojo, knocking his newly developed gun out of his hands, destroying it instantly. Afterward, the two villains are sent back to jail. Although they think that Morbucks losing her powers was punishment enough, they make her do time anyway just for the spite of it. The Narrator concludes the episode.
