Officer Mike Brickowski is an ex-police officer (who is the worst) and the main antagonist in "Cop Out".
He is a lazy, delusional and incompetent cop who is the worst cop on the force in Townsville who prefers sleeping in his car and eating doughnuts instead of doing his job due to caring more about the perks that come with his job over actually doing his job. He is hated by his fellow policemen (including his partner Perez who is annoyed by Mike and his delusions of grandeur and his bragging despite the fact he’s never done any police work as well as the fact Mike makes him drive him to all his favorite donut shops to buy donuts) due to his laziness induced incompetence and careless disregard and how it causes him to make them seem unreliable. Mike bears great animosity towards the Townsville's local heroes, due to being delusional enough to think that their hotshot vigilantism is cutting local law enforcement’s credibility to prevent crime. He is voiced by Jeff Bennett.
When he falls asleep during a bank robbery, his boss soon fires him for never doing his job (Brickowski thought he was going to get a promotion as he was called to his boss' office as he seems to be delusional enough to think that eating doughnuts all day is all a policeman is supposed to do). After that, Brickowski assumes that the girls are responsible for him being fired due to the mistaken belief of budget cutbacks & layoffs due to their taking all the work, hence plotting to take revenge on them. Ultimately, he refused to believe he was canned for being an all around unreliable cop to the point of getting labeled as “the worst, most incompetent officer” on the force. Thinking, despite evidence to the contrary, that he is the greatest policeman on the force and derides the girls for how they always take credit from good cops like him, even when faced with his own contradictory presentation. For example, when he sees himself on TV being lazy, he quickly approaches the television and throws it out the window, plotting to do away with the trio.
As part of his plan, Brickowski tricks the mayor into calling the girls. When they arrive, Brickowski tells them to go into a warehouse full of confiscated weapons, where he puts them to sleep with gas coming out of the tank. After that, he chains them to a cement block with Mojo Jojo's restraints and attempts to dip them in acid for making the police look bad. The girls say that they need the police, but Brickowski silences them. The TVPD, including his ex-partner, Perez arrive, arrest Brickowski for his crimes, and save the girls, who received only a few minor bruises from the acid.
As he is being incarcerated, Brickowski utters a tale on how he became a good cop gone bad, to which Blossom responds by saying he was not a good cop gone bad; he was a bad cop gone worse, much to the amusement of the narrator, who then tells Brickowski "Sorry, Officer Brickowski, no doughnuts in jail."
Trivia[]
- Almost all of the things in Mike's apartment still have the price tags on them, which could either mean that he shoplifts or that he bought his goods legally but was too lazy to remove the tags. The television set has a sign saying "Do Not Remove", likely indicating Mike at least stole something confiscated by law enforcement, even if he never shoplifted.
- He, along with Mojo Jojo, Sedusa, Lenny Baxter, Dick Hardly and the Gangreen Gang, is one of the only villains to successfully capture all of the Powerpuff Girls.
- Brickowski foolishly hated the Powerpuff Girls even before blaming them for his termination from his job which is nothing but a delusional excuse because he wasn’t doing his job.
