Girls Gone Mild is the twentieth episode of season five of The Powerpuff Girls. It aired on January 16, 2004.

Synopsis

After being complained about by Stanley and Sandra Practice (and their campaign, P.A.P.P. - Parents Against Powerpuffs), the Girls must stop fighting crime by kicks, punches, flying and other superpowers (with the exception of supervision). Day by day, the crime rates in Townsville are becoming more immense. Will they ever be able to use their powers again?

Trivia

  • Although not necessarily evil, many fans consider Stanley and Sandra Practice as the main antagonists of this episode, for banning the girls from using their superpowers and threatening to sue the Professor, causing the crime rate to skyrocket.
  • The episode was inspired by letters that show creator Craig McCracken received from distraught parents who felt that the show was teaching children that violence is appropriate as a defense, even though this was already touched upon in the Season 3 episode Three Girls and a Monster.
  • This episode is basically like a reminder that parents and legal guardians are the ones who should ultimately take responsibility for their children's actions instead of just blaming other people for it.
  • This episode surpassed Fallen Arches as the episode with the worst reviews from critics.
  • "oBey" is a parody of "eBay", as well as the word "obey".
  • Coincidentally, Stanley Practice was voiced by Daran Norris and Sandra Practice was voiced by Susan Blakeslee. The actors are also the voices of Cosmo and Wanda from the Nickelodeon show The Fairly OddParents. The show starred Timmy Turner, who was voiced by Bubbles' voice actress, Tara Strong.
  • The villains Dooks of Doom are the parody of Ed "Big Daddy" Roth designs, including Rat Fink.

Production Notes

  • Although "Documentary" and this episode aired on January 16, 2004, they were made in 2003.
